about Mario Lepage
Mario Lepage is an award winning French Canadian multi-instrumentalist, producer, composer, songwriter and performer from the centre of the Canadian prairies. He aims to capture unique sonic scapes, combining both organic and synthesized sounds in order to create a distinctive and colourful musical canvas.
Originating from a small french community nestled in the Saskatchewan prairies, Lepage’s connection to the land and his Francophone heritage have both heavily influenced his music and creative process. He is a firm believer that anything is achievable and has always been a very resourceful creator. Having spent more than a decade experimenting on a variety of instruments; drums, bass, keyboard, synth, guitar and vocals, Lepage has developed a knack for seeing the bigger picture in music and loves combining different musical elements together to create intricate song arrangements.
When working with artists and clients, Lepage aims to create a safe space for his collaborators to freely express their vision and dive into how they can fully realize their creative goals. In 2019 Mario Lepage was awarded the title of “Producer of the year” at the Saskatchewan music Awards and the Western Canadian music Awards (alongside his colleague Rayannah).

testimonials
“Working with Mario was one of the most enjoyable collaborative experiences I've had in my musical career thus far. He really tunes into your creative vision and immerses himself in the process of capturing it, while also challenging you to push your own musical boundaries. Armed with an array of quality instruments and analog gear in a gorgeous studio space, Mario's keen creative sensibilities are a tasteful balance of blending traditional songwriting approaches with more experimental exploration, leaving you with a high quality, beautifully unique sonic story. I highly recommend working with him!”
— Wild Black
“Mario has a dreamy, adventurous and tenacious spirit which he shares wholeheartedly with all the projects he undertakes. Our collaboration on my album led to something richer, more daring and more anchored thanks to his artistic mark. I can say with pride and sincerity that my creative process has been marked by our experience together.”
— Rayannah
Mario is everything you want out of a film composer: collaborative, flexible, and TALENTED, all caps. He knows which questions to ask to better understand your vision - you know, uh, the one that you’re, um, having trouble articulating - and has a good understanding of (and patience for!) the tango that is post-production.
With his tunes, Mario took our project exactly where it needed to go - a place we couldn’t have imagined at the outset - and was super responsive to any tweaks we wanted to make. So whether you have a very specific idea in mind, or need some creative input from a multi-talented multi-instrumentalist (because you’re running on fumes and have a hundred other decisions to make), Mario is your person. Give him a seed, and watch it grow.

“Mario Lepage is a natural leader in the studio and above all, a producer who knows how to bring a song to fruition. Through my working experience with Mario I can attest that he is an artist who understands the essence of a sonic piece. His ability to map out where to go with a song helps to shape and elevate each piece he contributes to. His openness and generosity are a few of his remarkable qualities which are greatly appreciated by the artists he works with, including myself.”
— Shawn Jobin
“I've worked with Mario Lepage numerous times over the years and have absolutely loved each experience. He is a fine session musician as well as an amazing producer and engineer. His work reflects the professionalism and creative energy brought to every project he works on and his interest for the artist's wellbeing is at the heart of his work.”
